'Beam Me Up'
Our house was extended by the previous owners and has a plaster-covered RSJ running throughout the middle of one of the rooms. I would like to cover this with oak so that it looks like a solid beam and is more in keeping with the house. However I cannot find anyone who seems confident that they can achieve what I require.

This is a tricky one since such a casing needs to be made with superb craftsmanship for the joints to create an impression of a solid beam. Also, the finish must be in the same style and quality as any existing oak in your house in order for it to blend in and avoid looking like a new addition.
